I’m Laura, a mum of 5 boys, home educator, SEN parent. For the last 2½ years I’ve worked from home in the travel industry, and this page is the honest version of what that looks like.
My Story
I didn’t quit a 9–5 in some dramatic leap. I couldn’t have, my life doesn’t allow for dramatic leaps.
One of my sons is home educated. Another has epilepsy and additional needs, which means EHCP paperwork, appointments and meetings that don’t care what shift pattern you’re on. A “normal job” was never going to work for our family.
So 2½ years ago I started working from home in the travel industry, fitting it in between school runs, hospital appointments, family dinners and real life.
No travel background. No fancy qualifications. Just a need for something flexible and a willingness to learn.
It’s been the only thing that’s ever fit around my family instead of fighting it.
